How to Join

Step 1: Attend the information meeting

Each year in August and September we meet at a range to answer questions. Please join us on at SharpShooters Indoor Range (1345 Rutherford Rd Greenville, SC 29609) to learn more about the program.

Learn more about the Hurricanes Marksmanship team season, practices, events and matches. Get your questions answered, meet coaches, meet returning athletes, watch a match, learn about action steel competitions and the other events we are planning for the team.

Step 2: Complete the team Registration Form

Step 3: Complete the NRA Basic Firearm Safety Course

This course is offered monthly at Sharpshooters Indoor Range and is mandatory for all athletes at no additional cost. There is a written test and a shooting test after the training has been completed. Guns, ammo, targets, eye pro, ear pro, and training materials provided. Certificate issued.

Returning Hurricanes and SharpShooters Summer Campers have already completed this requirement. We encourage parents to get certified with their child.

Step 4: Attend the Orientation Meeting

In September and October the team will have an orientation meeting at SharpShooters. For ALL registered Marksmanship athletes and their families. League registrations, forms, paperwork, and season preparations. New athletes bring copy of Birth Certificate. All athletes bring current Annual Sports Physical.

Prerequisite Checklist

  • Copy of Birth Certificate (new Hurricanes athletes only–returning Hurricanes athletes already have their birth certificate on file)

  • Completed Registration Form

  • NRA Basic Shooting Safety Course qualification is required.

  • Attend Orientation meeting at SharpShooters indoor Range
